2014 Year 12 SACE Results

18 December 2014

Dear Parents and Guardians

I am delighted to be able to share with you the impressive results achieved by our Year 12 boys who studied the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) in 2014. These results speak enormously well of this group of boys, and are reflective of their hard work, grit and talent, as well as the sterling efforts of their teachers.

In summary:

  • 3 (3.2%) students gained an ATAR of 99 and above
  • 8 (8.5%) students gained an ATAR of 98 and above
  • 29 (31%) students gained an ATAR of 95 and above
  • 48 (51%) students gained an ATAR of 90 and above
  • 70 (74%) students gained an ATAR of 80 and above
  • 23 merits for a perfect score were achieved

Amongst the boys, there were many exceptional individual achievements, particularly at the top end with Ray Li achieving an ATAR of 99.85 and three subject merits, Declan Gray 99.55, also three subject merits, and George Wells 99.45 with two subject merits.

Equally impressive is the median ATAR achieved of 90.5 (with the average across the SACE cohort being a rank of 85), which shows us the boy in the middle has excelled.

As significant however, is the number of boys who overcame challenges to achieve results that reflect new personal bests of which they should be proud. Moreover, every boy who was eligible to pass the SACE in 2014, did so.

As a school we take great pride in the achievements recorded by all of our boys as well as the way in which they have established a platform of learning habits and grades that will act as the scaffold for their future success. The academic results are impressive, and I look forward to witnessing these young men build on these foundations as they progress through life.

We also look forward to the publication of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results in early January 2015.

I wish you and your family a safe and happy Christmas.

Yours sincerely

Mr Simon Murray
