A conversation about Wellbeing
Wellbeing, particularly its contribution to the future and overall performance of young people, will be the topic of conversation tonight as Adelaide taps into the minds of three of the most highly influential thinkers in the field.
Organised by and to be held at St Peter’s College, the panel of experts to lead the public discussion will be headed by Dr Martin Seligman, a world leader in the field of wellbeing. Dr Seligman is Director of the Positive Psychology Center at the University of Pennsylvania and has been Adelaide’s ‘Thinker in Residence” for the past year addressing two major issues:
- How can conditions be created to enable every individual to flourish; and
- How can wellbeing and resilience be built into the lives of communities?
Tonight’s discussion panel also features former Australian of the year, Professor Patrick McGorry, Professor of Youth Mental Health at the University of Melbourne, Associate Professor Jane Burns, CEO of the Young and Well CRC and Simon Murray, St Peter’s College Headmaster and Chairman of the Positive Education Schools Association.
