It is not without commitment and fervour that the School’s strategic plan states that we have pledged to be at the forefront of boys’ education. This can only be achieved if we work together as a School community to support this goal. One tangible and certain way to assist with this aim is through the Annual Giving program which will be coming out next week via email. This year it is hoped that every member of the School community will make some contribution to Annual Giving – the size of the gift is less important than your participation.
One of the great traditions of St Peter’s College is its desire to contribute to society and the wellbeing of individuals. To be able to provide scholarships to those who may not normally be able to benefit from the experience of Saints is an important aspect of this and consequently, a focus of this year’s fund raising efforts. The aim is to raise $350,000 to support the School’s Strategic Plan: “Towards a Preferred Future” of which $100,000 will be directed into the Scholarship fund, so the Foundation can advertise the availability of a day scholarship in 2014.
The reality is that your fees cover only the staff salaries and the general running costs of the School. But, it is the Foundation which provides the extended platform on which the greater success of the School is based. It is the Foundation that helps with building new facilities, funding of scholarships and enhances our resource for the libraries – it is the Foundation that funds a range of other initiatives that make our School truly great.
The tradition of giving is what has made our School what it is today.
I hope you will support Annual Giving along with Patsy and me.
