Recapping Term Two
As term 2 comes to a close we reflect on what a jam-packed term we have had!
Starting us off we had the ANZAC Day service, where we had the honour of bringing together the School to the cross lined Memorial Hall to commemorate this significant occasion. Despite the unfortunate weather forcing us to move the service inside at late notice, the school embraced this change with enthusiasm. With the support from Old Scholars during the service we felt we were able to put together a thoughtful and moving service. Every year the Department for Veterans ’s Affairs puts together an ANZAC Day School’s award for school services, on behalf of the school we submitted an entry and look forward to reporting back with our result in coming months.
Come week 4 Pyramid of Cans was upon us! With a changed 2 part structure devised by the Prefect group, we saw the houses go into battle on the Main to create their longest chain of cans followed by the usual design competition this year, using the theme “Australia”. At the end of the day we were so proud of the sheer volume of goods that the school was able to put together to donate to the Elizabeth Mission – a true testimony to the generosity of the school community.
We wish everybody a safe and relaxing holiday as well as the best of luck to our year 12’s as they prepare for their trial exams in the third week of the holidays.
